Paintless dent repair (PDR), also known as “paintless dent removal”, is a collection of techniques for removing dents and dings from the body of a motor vehicle. A wide range of damage can be repaired using PDR such as hail damage and most parking lot dings and dents. By gaining access to the inside skin of the metal, gentle pressure is applied until the dent is removed. No Sanding, Painting or use of Body Fillers are required in the PDR process.

The key to understanding the power of PDR and its techniques are to understand the unique tools of the trade. Fluorescent lights are used to see the dents and dings by casting a shadow which exposes the deformation of the dent. The tools of the trade are a unique set of PDR rods and lights that allow the PDR technician access to the inside of the panel to complete the repair.
